chickpea skins

spent the day prepping for s+j and our game night party. after letting two cups of chickpeas soak overnight, i removed the skins from every single one of them and didn’t realize just how long it would take. some food blogger said something about 9 minutes but i came closer to an hour. supposedly, it makes the hummus smoother. since i’ve never made it before with the skins on, i can’t compare but the hummus was tasty and easy and i would make it again. sure, it’s easier to buy it from the store, but you just don’t get the same satisfaction as when you make it yourself and spend hours preparing the chickpeas and subsequently cleaning the vitamix.
