we spent the day pulling up the iris at the curb and preparing the 6 inches outside the fence for the delphinium and succulents. mama bear had already pulled most of the dead, overgrown plants out from the area so planting was easy. especially since i didn’t do any of it. i was wrestling first with the weeds at the curb and then with the overgrown iris. we chopped the other one and it’s already sprouting all this new growth. nature always wins, even if you severely prune it. i’m hoping that holds true for our citrus trees we pruned this spring.
