Today was perfect in so many ways. We walked to breakfast and ate outside with our puppy dog. We loaded the bikes up and drove to Dockweiler State Beach. We biked to Manhattan Beach and had lunch at Petros. We sat by the ocean and debated the finer points of health care reform and politics. We snacked on fresh fruits and freshly roasted ethiopian sidamo and roti from 99 ranch and vegged in front of the tv after taking a nice hot shower. We had a wide array of sushi and some of the best mackerel EVER. What a perfect day…

When cooked, it develops typical mushroom umami flavors with a texture similar to that of abalone.) / katsuo (skipjack) / sawara (spanish mackerel) / kinmedai (golden eye snapper) / saba? (japanese mackerel) / (king mackerel) / kurodai (black sea bream or black snapper) / also had black cod, abalone, halibut, monkfish liver, kanpachi, sea urchin, yellowtail, and tuna (the worst of the lot)
