okee dokee, so last week we went to palm springs. . . wow. what a trip — all of these amazing mid-century modern homes. we stayed in one built in the 70s which was furnished a la dwr/ikea (yea, weird, but it worked. . . it worked well). it was really awesome. the heat was actually really tolerable. the temp went up to 100 or so and both j and i felt pretty comfy. granted j had so much sweat that she needed to main line h2o to keep hydrated. overall, i would say best vacation outside of london that we have had so far.
now i will say that if i lived in palm springs i would definitely lose weight, the food there, heinous. went to spencer’s and our meals were almost inedible. for a fat person to say that means that the food really sucked.
okay, so what does. “so i missed it, again. . .” mean? well, we went to dwr while we were there because there is an annex (aka outlet store). lots of stuff and i mean lots of stuff. there i saw my future. . .the jens chair and ottoman for a cool $600. i fell in love. . . i mean a different kinda love. . . the want, the desire. . . that leads to suffering. . . um, that leads to the dark side? we hemmed, we hawed, we went home. . . i was okay. . . no dark side for me. . . whew.
then i found out that the annex was having a sale. . . i had to go back. i called, the jens was in stock last night, at last, it would be mine (hello, dark side). we got up early this morning and drove all night (wait that is cindy lauper and it was during the day) to dwr in palm springs. and, as the dark side would have it. . . as we were about to go upstairs, someone else was buying the jens chair. crushed, was i. wished i had listened to yoda, did i.
oh well, no worries, i am sure that i will find my dark side again, but for now, i let it go. . . but there is always tomorrow ;).
